Leigh A. Genasevich Memorial Scholarship

Who can enter?

The scholarship is open to all traditionally homeschool students who are residents of PA, members of CHAP, are graduating and who are continuing their education through some type of learning beyond high school. This may be college (online or in-person), trade school, gap program, or technical institution.  Register now if you are not already a CHAP paying member and wish to apply for this scholarship.  The winning applicants are highly encouraged to be in attendance at the CHAP Convention for the award ceremony.

How do I enter?

Application form must be completed electronically through the CHAP membership site. It will need to include:

1.  Applicant's contact information, graduation date, location for learning beyond high school education, and major if applicable.

2.  Copy of your High School Transcript (from High School Program or from parents)

3.  One essay (approximately 1,000 words not to exceed 1,100) covering the applicant's Christian Walk, Homeschool Career, and Future Plans.

Click here to view a rubric used by judges for essay.

We encourage participants to view the rubric as the essay portion of the scholarship application is a major part of the judging process.

4.  At least two letters of recommendation (not to exceed three letters) from non-family members, not to exceed one page each. All together recommendations should cover knowledge of the applicant's personal character, academic work, community service, and Christian life. Letters may be uploaded with application or sent directly from reference to CHAP office by mail or by contact form.

Applications, letters, and essays become the property of CHAP.  They will not be returned.
CHAP reserves the right to publish the scholarship winner's name, photograph, and all or part of the winning essay in a press release and/or in any or all future CHAP publications.
