There are many opportunities available to homeschool families.  Listing of these does not imply an endorsement by CHAP.  Please review all thoroughly. 

* Contest

National Math Competition The National School Improvement Alliance will conduct the Pennsylvania State-wide Math Competition for 1st-8th Graders on March 3, 2018 in Philadelphia.  When you register, you get access to a team of math teachers, principals, and college professors. Approximately 600 students from each State-wide Event will progress to the Regional.  Cost per student is only $10. If student progresses to Regional or National, there is NO additional entry cost One of the Regionals will be held in Philadelphia, PA with Nationals to be held in May 2018 in Washington D.C. 

Essay Scholarship Competition - The annual VFW Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen Essay Scholarship competitions are up and running.  This is an excellent opportunity to develop language arts skills while developing appreciation for our nation!

Essays are due no later than October 31 at a VFW near you!  Contact your local VFW to verify if they are participating in the contest. If they are not, go to the next nearest VFW!

  • Patriot Pen is a written essay by grades 6-8.
  • Voice of Democracy is for grades 9-12 and is an oral essay.
  • Specific topics and judging guidelines are specified on the attached entry forms.

STEAM ChallengeThe STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) Challenge is a competition that kids in preschool-8th grade can participate in.  You can visit the challenge page of our website at www.rozzylearningcompany.com/steam-challenge to learn more and sign your family or group up. HSLDA's Essay Contest This year's theme is Where Would You Go? Who Would You Be?
All homeschool students ages 7-19
are invited to submit thoughtful responses to the prompts for their age category.  *All ages are as of September 1, 2017. You won't want to miss out on this, because winners will receive up to $200 in cash prizes! Student Book Competition on Heroines - The National Youth Foundation (NYF) is pleased to announce the Amazing Women’s Edition (AWE) competition.  AWE calls upon students in grades K to 8 to write and illustrate original books on heroines in their communities.  Winner will receive $500 and the winning book will be published in hard cover and donated to public libraries.  The deadline for the submission of completed books and applications is January 4, 2018.  Contest details and application material can be found at www.nationalyouthfoundation.org.  For questions, please email SHanson@ntlyf.org or call (610) 742-3671.

Notebooks for Students

Homeschool families can purchase from NFS as individual families or form a group for a Group Order. In both cases the families must provide their homeschool documentation to NFS. The type of documentation is based by what is required by your state of residence.
