Drive Smart Teen Digital Short Contest13-18 year old eligible to win a $10,000 scholarship by creating an original 15-60 second digital short, multiple submissions are encouraged.  Each week, one winner will be chosen out of all the entries to receive a $100 gift card.  Deadline: December 18, 2017 Enter today!

Praxis Homeschool ScholarshipThis scholarship covers the full $11,000 tuition cost during the six-month educational component of the program.  Homeschoolers between 18 and 25 may apply until December 31, 2017.  Find out more about this apprenticeship program at: https://discoverpraxis.com/

Student Book Competition on Heroines - The National Youth Foundation (NYF) is pleased to announce the Amazing Women’s Edition (AWE) competition.  AWE calls upon students in grades K to 8 to write and illustrate original books on heroines in their communities.  Winner will receive $500 and the winning book will be published in hard cover and donated to public libraries.  The deadline for the submission of completed books and applications is January 4, 2018.  Contest details and application material can be found at www.nationalyouthfoundation.org.  For questions, please email SHanson@ntlyf.org or call (610) 742-3671.

National History BeeThe National History Bee is a social studies competition for students in grades 4-8. The participation fee for a 2017-2018 homeschool participant, Individual or School, is waived upon submission of the Homeschool Verification Form. The only activity required is the Online Examwhich must be administered according to the official Exam Day Instructions. This must be submitted between January 3rd and 19th, 2018 More information can be found at: https://www.aceqb.com/historybee

Sower and Harvest Writing ContestA short story contest for any homeschooler in 3rd to 8th grade. Themes are Choice (3rd-4th), Compassion (5th-6th), and Surrender (7th-8th). Stories must be written in English and no more than 900 words.  Deadline is January 31, 2018. More details can be found at http://burningbush.press/contest/.

HSLDA Art ContestStudents ages 7-19 may enter up to 2 pieces of art.  Each piece must have a separate entry form and fee ($15 or $10 for HSLDA members).  Winners will receive up to $200 cash. Postmark deadline is February 1, 2018. Theme era for age categories: impressionism (7-10), romantic (11-14) or baroque (15-19).  More info and guidelines at HSLDA contests.

National Math Competition The National School Improvement Alliance will conduct the Pennsylvania State-wide Math Competition for 1st-8th Graders on March 3, 2018 in Philadelphia.  When you register, you get access to a team of math teachers, principals, and college professors. Approximately 600 students from each State-wide Event will progress to the Regional.  Cost per student is only $10. If student progresses to Regional or National, there is NO additional entry cost One of the Regionals will be held in Philadelphia, PA with Nationals to be held in May 2018 in Washington D.C.

Notebooks for Students

Homeschool families can purchase from NFS as individual families or form a group for a Group Order. In both cases the families must provide their homeschool documentation to NFS. The type of documentation is based by what is required by your state of residence.
